For Clare’s kitchen renovation in Sudbury, Suffolk, we designed, supplied and installed a completely bespoke fitted kitchen, transforming the existing space into a warm, timeless and highly practical kitchen tailored to the home.
The project involved much more than simply replacing the kitchen. We undertook the complete preparation and installation process, coordinating the necessary electrical and plumbing work, structural alterations, plastering, flooring and bespoke carpentry to create a cohesive finished space.
The Inspiration
The Design
The kitchen features doors from the Infinite Collection by Marpatt Woodsman, finished in Light Oak, complemented by Lancaster Oak carcasses. The natural oak tones bring warmth and character to the room, creating a classic yet contemporary feel.
Premium Blum Legro drawer boxes and Blum hinges were selected throughout, providing smooth operation, durability and reliable everyday performance.
A key feature of the design is the bespoke oak canopy, created to house the built-in extractor fan. Finished with traditional oak corbels, the canopy adds a distinctive architectural detail while integrating the extractor seamlessly into the overall kitchen design.
The cabinetry is finished with a 30mm quartz worktop, providing a durable and elegant surface that complements the natural oak cabinetry.
From Preparation to Installation
The existing fitted kitchen and furniture were carefully removed before the space was prepared for the new design.
The works included:
- Removal of the existing kitchen and furniture
- Electrical and plumbing preparation
- Creation of stud walls to accommodate built-in cupboards
- Plastering and preparation of the walls
- Floor insulation
- Supply and installation of new tiled flooring
- Installation of the bespoke fitted kitchen
- Bespoke oak canopy with built-in extractor housing
- Oak corbels and detailing
- Installation of the 30mm quartz worktop
- Final fitting and finishing throughout
The Result
The completed kitchen combines natural materials, considered detailing and quality hardware to create a space that is both beautiful and built for everyday life.
From the warmth of the light oak cabinetry to the bespoke oak canopy and crisp quartz worktop, every element was carefully considered to make the most of the space and create a kitchen that feels completely at home in its surroundings.

Before & After
What the Client said:
James and Jack did an excellent job of work to provide us with a new kitchen.
Our old kitchen and floor went in a skip and everything was replaced. They worked hard with long days and even did extra things that were not planned.
The workmanship was superb so the finished kitchen looks great.
We wouldn't hesitate to use James Charles again.
